About the author
Paola Lovisetti Scamihorn is an Italian researcher and food writer who was born in Como (Italy) on the shores of the beautiful lake which bears the same name.  She earned her degree in Pharmacy at the University of Milan and later moved to Brussels (Belgium) where she received her Master in Medical and Pharmaceutical Research. She worked as a scientist in Belgium and Austria for more than a decade and after returning to Italy in she shifted her attention to cooking, nutrition and wellness.  She learned to cook primarily from her grandmother and her mother, two excellent cooks, and even today she likes to experiment with different tastes and textures, tingeing from the Italian culinary culture to create her own personal recipes.  She writes a cooking blog “Passion and Cooking” (www.passionandcooking.com) and contributes to several national and  international magazines and shares anecdotes about Italian cuisine and culture during cooking lessons held in an informal and cozy setting. She has published several books: Love is Eating, Healthy and Tasty Italian Recipes for Family Meals – a book about the Italian culinary culture and – the Mamma Mia! Diet that it is a modern reinterpretation of the Mediterranean lifestyle to help you make a series of healthy choices that will enhance your overall well-being, including controlling your weight, improving heart and brain health. Honestly Healthy is a sort of a guide book, a manual on eating fresh, seasonal and home-prepared fruits and vegetables that will provide you with all kinds of benefits. The recipes are complete, satisfying and nutritionally balanced because they are prepared with appropriate proportions of healthy ingredients. She is married, has two children and is a passionate traveler.  She now lives in her hometown of Como Italy, and she has previously also lived in London, Brussels and Innsbruck.
